The certificate is designed for people who:

  • Are healthcare managers who seek advanced learning in the study of management and leadership; and/or
  • Are employed in a nonprofit or government health services organization and are preparing for a career in healthcare administration.

An option of a stand alone certificate will create a pathway for prospective students who either already have a Master’s degree or may only need the certificate for their career.  The graduate certificate is designed for students to develop leadership and management skills while gaining a broad understanding of Public Healthcare Administration. By completing the certificate, students will be prepared to use their knowledge in a number of public healthcare fields. They will be able to select from a diverse list of courses in order to customize a program that best matches their career goals.  This includes courses in: epidemiology; health services management and leadership; collaborative community health management and administration; public relations and marketing; healthcare policy. Students may elect to substitute a course from another graduate course offering as approved by an assigned advisor.
